Migration Path

The migration path of Backbone depends on how the synchronization is set up. Please first choose your scenario and then follow the migration guide.

Server to Cloud → Cloud to Cloud

  • You are migrating from your Server instance to a Cloud instance
  • You are synchronizing to a Cloud instance which also has Backbone installed

Server (with Backbone configuration) to Server → Cloud to Server

  • You are synchronizing to a Server instance which also has Backbone installed
  • You have configured/set up the synchronization on your instance
  • Only you are migrating your Server instance to Cloud

Server to Server (with Backbone configuration) → Cloud to Server

  • You are synchronizing to a Server instance which also has Backbone installed
  • Your partner has configured/set up the synchronization
  • Only you are migrating your Server instance to Cloud

Behind firewall

  • You are synchronizing to your partner by email or file exchange

Remote license

  • You are synchronizing to another instance which has a remote license
