Backbone Issue Sync 5.14.1

December 2024

We're excited to announce the release of Backbone Issue Sync 5.14.1. This update introduces some quality of life changes, as well as a bug fix for comment synchronization from Software to JSM projects

Defaulting to personal access tokens

Backbone now defaults to using a personal access token (PAT) if possible. Using a PAT instead of a regular password has several benefits such as:

  • It does not allow to login via the UI

  • It’s easy to revoke without changing the password of the user

  • It’s not affected if the password of the user got changed

Open synchronization leads to configuration

Previously, when opening a synchronization in the Backbone UI, you were lead to the Connection tab. Most of the time however you want to access the configuration and make changes there, therefore Backbone now leads to the configuration tab first, when opening a synchronization.

Bug fix: Comments getting synced instead of being ignored

We fixed a bug that lead to comments being synced from a Software Project to an internal comment in a JSM project, if a customer request type was set, even when the synchronization was setup in a way so that the comments should have been ignored and not synced.
