Backbone Issue Sync 3.1.3-AC

April 2024

The Backbone team is pleased to introduce Backbone Issue Sync 3.1.3-AC.

This release includes the support of Data Residency as well as some bug fixes.

Data Residency Support

Backbone Issue Sync now supports Data Residency for the US, EU, and DE (Germany) regions, ensuring that your data is stored precisely where you need it to be. With this update, you can now dictate where your data resides, aligning with where your Jira host product stores data. We’ve also made sure to support both synchronization between two instances in the same region as across regions. More information of which data is stored where can be found here.

Activating Data Residency on Your Instance

If you're already using Backbone, there's no need to undergo data migration. Your data is automatically allocated to the US, ensuring continuity and ease of use. In the settings of your Jira instance (settings > security > data residency) this will show as follow:

  • If your instance is pinned to a region, the location will show “US“

  • If your instance is not pinned to a region, the location will show “Not set“

If you want to switch to another region, you can follow the steps laid out by Atlassian to move your app(s) in this article .

If you install Backbone after the release, the app data will already have the “Pinned” status if your Jira app is pinned in one of the supported regions. If needed, you can move your app data to another supported location afterwards.

For further details, please check out the information available in our FAQ section on data residency.
