How to configure Backbone with a proxy

Thomas Walker

Thomas Walker Last update: May 15, 2017

Backbone Issue Sync versions 3.2.2 and later can be configured with a proxy server.

The proxy setting is to configure a forward proxy server – e.g. to exit a DMZ. In the example screenshot below, the Backbone client on jiraA.com will address jiraB.com as Base URL, and optionally will use a proxy server to forward its requests in order to exit from its DMZ and access the jiraB.com server.

Configuration is mostly the same as normal – you just need to tick the Use Proxy checkbox on the Create Integration screen, and add your login credentials for the proxy server. Furthermore, for the proxy server address you have to specify the full URL, including 'http://' or 'https://'.
