Help Center Tile is like a building block your Help Center is made up of.

A tile may be a product documentation. Or some general information, e.g. about terms and conditions.

Given you already have a Help Center Portal configured, let's see how you can add some tiles to it.

Tile Configuration Basics

As tiles are placed on the portal page of your Help Center, they of course have some title and some description.

In case a tile refers to the documentation of some product, it may refer to several versions of this product documentation.`

Or even to several variants of it.

Content related to these different versions and or variants are stored in enlite in different publication spaces.

Thus, a tile configuration includes references to these publication spaces.

Creating a Tile Configuration Page

Tiles are configured on a Help Center Tile Page. To create such a page, select the according template from the Create Page dialogue:

You have to specify a Title for the tile. Usually, this is the name of the product in case the tile refers to some product documentation.

You also have to specify Version Name together with the Version Space, i.e. the publication space that stores content about the according version of the according product.

You may also specify some Description.

Once you have created a new Help Center Tile page, two further steps are required:

  1. Adding the tile to the according Viewport Theme.
  2. Create a Viewport in the referenced Version Space

Adding Tile Configuration Page to Viewport Theme

The newly created tile configuration page must be referenced in the Viewport Theme used by the Viewport in your Help Center Portal.

The easiest way of doing this is to follow the instructions shown on the according Help Center Tile page (given the macro Help Center Tile Doc is placed on that page).

Create Viewport in Version Space

The Version Space referenced on the Help Center Tile page must have a Viewport configured belonging to the collection of the Viewport created for the Help Center Portal (see: Creating A Help Center).

The easiest way of doing this is to follow the instructions shown on the according Help Center Tile page (given the macro Help Center Tile Doc is placed on that page).

A Viewport VV belongs to the collection of Viewport VR if:

  1. Viewport VR is configured to Enable Viewport Collection beneath this path
  2. Viewport VV has an URL configuration starting with the URL of Viewport VR.

Adding Versions Or Variants

Once you have created a Help Center Tile, it refers to at least one version.

In case you want to add versions or variants to this tile, meaning you want to relate the tile to a new version of the according product documentation, you have to edit the Help Center Tile page and update the row Versions accordingly.
