Getting 'Unexpected block type 0!' Error

Problem

Error Message on the UI: Error occured when writing Word document (Root Cause: Unexpected block type 0!).

The log file will say something like:

Resolution

  • Re-insert the image(s) on the page mentioned in the error log.

Cause

This error is cause by a broken image file in specific pages (in this case with GIF metadata).
