Get started

Getting started with Scroll Viewport is simple: Install the add-on, configure a viewport and open the viewport from its unique URL.

  • If you have Scroll Viewport already installed: Start with Step 2
  • If you already have a Viewport configured: Start with Step 3

Step 1: Install Scroll Viewport using the Universal Plugin Manager 

Confluence Administration Permission Required

You have to be logged in as a user with space administration permissions in the current space (or with Confluence administrator permissions).

Installing Scroll Viewport is simple:

  1. Open the Universal Plugin Manager:


  2. Click "Find new add-ons" (in the left-hand menu)


  3. Enter "Scroll Viewport" in the search box and click Enter:


  4. Click Free Trial on the left and follow the instructions on the screen:

Step 2: Configure a Viewport for a Space 

Space Admin Permission Required

You have to be logged in as a user with space administration permissions in the current space (or with Confluence administrator permissions).

  1. Open the Confluence Admin Console:
  2. Navigate to Viewports in the Scroll Viewport section.


  3. Click Create Viewport.
    A new Viewport is created.
  4. Select the wanted theme and click the Content tab.
  5. Enter the Space Key that contains the content for the Viewport and select the wanted Content Types.
  6. Click the URL tab.
  7. Enter the Domain Name and the Path Prefix (eg. "/ds").
  8. In the Page Path dropdown select how paths to pages are constructed.
  9. Click the Permissions tab.
  10. If you want to restrict normal users to access the Confluence UI, select the check box Restrict access to Confluence UI and enter the groups that should access the Confluence UI
  11. If you want to automatically redirect users to the Viewport, select the check box Automatically redirect users to viewport.
  12. Click Save.

The Viewport is saved and is listed in the Viewport overview:

Step 3: Open the Viewport URL 

  • Open a space with a Viewport defined, click the small Scroll Viewport icon and click Open.

The current page is displayed in the defined Viewport Theme.

Step 4: Switching back to the Confluence View 

  1. Click the small icon in the top-right and click View in Confluence.
  2. In the Scroll Viewport sidebar click View in Confluence.

The corresponding Confluence page is displayed.
