Read in the Document Reader
Read and interact with multiple pages of a document at once with the scrollable Document Reader.
Open the Document Reader
From the Document Library, hover over a document card and click Read to open the Document Reader.
From the Document Reader dialog, you can quickly skim through the content of all the versions of a document. You can, then, quickly close the preview and continue browsing the library.
In addition to optimizing the readability of your document, with the reader you can also:
View and navigate the page tree
Use Go to page to navigate to the underlying Confluence pages and make changes to the content (only for users with edit permissions)
Switch versions and view version details
Share specific versions of the document
Export specific versions of the document to PDF or Word
Receive and confirm a Read Request (when there is a request created)
Navigate a Version of the Document with the Page Tree
On the left side of the Document Reader, you’ll see the document page tree to help you stay in context as you read through a document.
The document page tree displays all page titles, and you can find the headings of the selected page on the right hand side, under Table of Contents.
The page tree is interactive, so you can expand and collapse sections as necessary. To read a specific section in the document, click on a title in the page tree.
Open a Specific Page Within a Version of the Document
In the Document Reader, you can open the individual Confluence pages that make up a version of your document. From a page, you can edit the content of your document:
Hover over the page title in the document.
Click Go to page (see image, above).
3. Optionally, Edit the page in the Confluence editor.
The Go to page option is only available next to the page titles in the document. So, if your goal is to open a specific section of a document, such as content below a heading, first scroll to the page with this heading and click the related Go to page button.
You can switch back to Legacy Document Reader from global Scroll Documents settings.
