Scroll Documents provides a shortcut to editing the content of your document directly from the Document Viewer.

To the right of each page title in the document, you'll see a subtle Edit button:

Clicking this will open the Confluence editor where you can immediately start editing the page content.

Note that the edit option is only available next to the page titles of the document. So if your goal is to edit a specific section of a document, such as content below a heading, you must first scroll to the page that this heading belongs to where you'll find the Edit button available.

Edit the document outline

The document outline in the Viewer displays all of the page titles and headings within the pages of your document.

You can edit or rearrange this document outline at any time, and even delete or add new pages to your document using the document outline editor.

Edit or reorder the document outline

Select the Edit document structure button beneath the Document Outline.

Click on the page title to edit or rename the page in a document. Note that renaming the page in the document outline also renames the Confluence page.

To reorder a page in the outline, select and drag the page to move it to a new position. The blue bars will indicate the position that the page will be placed in the hierarchy.

Add a new page to the outline

Use the blue plus (plus) buttons next to the page titles to add a new page to the document. The experience matches that of Confluence where the new page will be added as a child page by default. Once the new page is added, you can drag and drop to reorder the page in the outline.

Remove a page from the outline

Select the delete icon next to the add page button to delete a page from your document. Keep in mind that deleting a page from your document outline also deletes the Confluence page.

If you delete a page in the outline by accident, use the undo button to recover it. In addition, no changes to the outline are final until you click Save at the bottom of the outline editor.

Edit document metadata

As you experienced in the document creation process, you can add metadata to your document which includes the Document Title, Summary, and Labels. To edit the metadata of the document, first select the document in the Overview:

To edit the document title and summary, simply click on these elements in the document details view. Click the check mark to save your changes.

To add or remove labels to your document, select the labels icon to open the edit labels dialog where you can add or remove labels.

To edit the cover image of the document, follow the steps to add or remove custom cover images for documents
