Question

What's the difference between Scroll Translations and Bitvoodoo's Language Add-on?

Answer

Language Add-on is very rudimentary: it lets authors write content in multiple languages using special macros. Depending on the language settings, the corresponding language is displayed.

Scroll Translations offers much more functionality for managing multiple languages in Confluence, for example:

  • Connection to Translation Memory Systems to translate your Confluence content externally. This helps you saving translation time and costs
  • Translate directly in Confluence with the original content and the translated content side-by-side
  • Workflows that show if a translation is up-to-date or needs to be updated
  • Translation of page titles and page tree
  • Translated content can be displayed independent from the Confluence language settings
