If you want to have the Scroll Content Management Bar scroll along with the content, like the top navigation bar does, there is a little snippet you can apply.

To activate it for the entire Confluence Installation, follow the next steps.

  1. Go to General configuration > Look and Feel > Stylesheet.
  2. Here you can edit the stylesheet by pressing the edit button.
  3. Insert the following stylesheet and save it.
#main {
    padding-left: 0;
    padding-top: 0;
    padding-right: 0;
#content, #title-heading {
    padding-left: 40px;
.fixed-header + * #sv-scmtb-toolbar-container {
    position: fixed;
    z-index: 10;
    top: 41px;
    transform: translateY(0);
    z-index: 1000;
#sv-scmtb-toolbar {
    position: relative !important;
#navigation {
    padding-right: 20px;

Alternatively you can also apply this snippet on space level in the Stylesheet section of the specific space.

  • Since Confluence 5.9, the content edit tools appear as soon as you start to scroll up. If that's the case, the Scroll Content Management Bar will be overlayed, until you scroll down again.
  • With Confluence 6, there is also a problem with how the scrolling position is calculated for the main content area, as the scroll position is reset for the first few pixels. This is nothing we could solve for now.
