How does Backbone handle personal data?

Question

How does Backbone handle personal data?

Answer

Backbone will synchronize data based on your synchronization configuration. It will export the data from the source project and import it into the target project. Between the export and import of the data, Backbone handles the data.

  • Data handling during the synchronization: Between the export and import of your data, Backbone will temporarily store the issue data in the Jira home folder where the synchronization is running. This may include personal data (if you configured so, e.g. the assignee should be synchronized.) Please ensure that access to the Jira home folder is restricted according to your data security policies.

  • Data handling after the synchronization: After the data has been synchronized into the target project, it is no longer handled by Backbone.

Please read more about it in our documentation and our data security statement.
