Backbone Work Sync 5.23.2

We're happy to announce the release of Backbone 5.23.2, fixing an issue where the Jira Allowlist enforcement introduced in 5.23.0 could block valid Data Center instances behind load balancers. We've also introduced the ability to specify for which issue types comments apply and resolved a sync failure affecting sub-tasks when epic link syncing was enabled between Data Center and Cloud, and made several UI improvements.

Please note that we skipped Backbone version 5.23.1.

Fix: Allowlisted Jira Instances on Internal IPs No Longer Blocked

The Allowlist enforcement added in Backbone 5.23.0 could block connections to Jira Data Center instances behind a load balancer when the backend nodes resolved to private IP addresses (e.g. 10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x) — even when the hostname was explicitly listed in the Allowlist.

This has been fixed. Backbone now correctly validates the hostname against the Allowlist without rejecting connections solely because the resolved IP is a private address. No configuration changes are needed after upgrading.

New: Issue Type Filter for Comment Syncing

You can now control which issue types comment syncing applies to. Previously, comment synchronization was all-or-nothing. if enabled, comments were synced for all synced issues. With this release, the Comments tab in the sync configuration includes a new Applies to issue types setting for each project side. By default, all issue types are selected.
