Ignoring Content in the Export

To follow this guide, you must first install the Scroll Exporter Extensions app

You must install the Scroll Exporter Extensions app to use the macros required to follow this guide.

Nesting macros on Cloud?

Please note that in the new cloud editor Atlassian have removed the possibility to nest macros having a body within other macros (eg. placing the Page Property macro within the Scroll Ignore macro).

Atlassian had an issue open for this change, however, this is now closed and they do not plan to re-introduce this functionality for the new cloud editor - you can view their related issue here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-68323
. Potentially, in the future we will see if it is possible to workaround this and we have created our own feature request but currently we don’t offer any workaround. You can view the related feature request here -EXP-3287

You can mark content to be excluded from exports by inserting it into a Scroll Ignore or Scroll Ignore Inline macro. The content will still be displayed as normal within Confluence.

The difference in how these macros work is that a line break is inserted when the Scroll Ignore macro is used, and no line break is inserted by the Scroll Ignore Inline macro. Subsequently, as a result of this difference, please note that the Scroll Ignore Inline macro does not support rich text content and only uses plain text formatting. This is because rich text can also include non-inline content.

Once the macro is inserted, you can Edit it to select which Scroll Exporter app(s) specifically ignores the content in the export. If you want to ignore content in Confluence, but still display it in exports, you can use the Scroll only or Scroll only inline macros.

Disabling content highlighting

To disable the highlighting, simply navigate to Confluence administration > Scroll Runtime > Advanced Plugin Settings, and select Scroll Exporter Extensions from the dropdown.
Then change the value of the setting enableScrollIgnoreContentHighlight to false.

Disabling content highlighting

If you don't want the Scroll Ignore content to be highlighted in the Confluence page view this can be disabled in the Confluence administration. To do this, simply navigate to Confluence administration > Scroll Exporter Extensions Settings

Then simply toggle off the setting for Highlight Content in Scroll Ignore Macro and select Save:
