02/04/25 - Scroll Exporter Service Outage
Overview
On Wednesday April 02, 2025 we experienced an unexpected service outage due to infrastructure maintenance, which temporarily impacted access to our Scroll Exporter apps on Confluence Cloud. This disruption also affected a very small number of export templates created by customers whose Scroll Exporter app data is pinned to the DE (Germany) region.
What was the impact?
During routine maintenance to the infrastructure that host our Scroll Exporter apps for Confluence Cloud, a technical issue led to an outage that prevented access to the service for a period of time for the following apps;
Scroll PDF Exporter for Confluence Cloud
Scroll Word Exporter for Confluence Cloud
Scroll HTML Exporter for Confluence Cloud
Scroll Exporter Extensions for Confluence Cloud
The outage was identified at April 02, 2025 - 09:15 CEST and was resolved at April 02, 2025 - 15:51 CEST. Customers in all regions were affected by this issue.
During this time-frame, affected users:
Were unable to generate exports with the affected apps on Confluence Cloud.
Could not view Scroll macros – provided by the Scroll Exporter Extensions app – in Confluence pages.
Important information for affected users
If you created an export template recently before the outage, and your Scroll Exporter app data is pinned in the DE (Germany) region, please read the following details.
This disruption also affected a small number of export templates that were created prior to the outage that have been lost as a result.
The affected templates were:
Created between between April 01, 11:00am CEST and April 02, 09:30am CEST.
Created on a Confluence Cloud instance where the app data for Scroll Exporters is pinned to EU / Germany.
Created with either Scroll PDF Exporter or Scroll Word Exporter - our app, Scroll HTML Exporter, was unaffected by this issue.
Unfortunately, as a result of the maintenance issue, these export templates are not recoverable, and would need to be recreated.
Any export templates created before or after the time-frame were not affected and remain available.
To ensure that potentially affected users are aware of this issue, we have added an in-app banner to the Scroll Exporter apps to notify users of the outage and provide a link to this article.
