Scroll Support Hub

Get Started

Connect your Scroll Site to a service project and put a working support widget on your help center in about ten minutes.

In this article, you'll install Scroll Support Hub on Jira, connect your Scroll Site, copy two values into your Help Center theme, and send a test request to confirm the whole path works.

You need administrator permission in Jira to install the app and connect a site, and permission to edit and publish your Scroll Site.

Before You Begin

We’re in Early Access – Activation Required

Scroll Support Hub is currently only available to early access participants and needs to be activated by K15t.

To participate and get access to Scroll Support Hub: Sign up for early access

  • Scroll Sites is installed on your Confluence Cloud instance, and you have a site that uses the Help Center theme.

  • Your site has a published URL, for example https://help.example.com. The address must use https://.

  • Jira Service Management (JSM) or Customer Service Management (CSM) is available on the same Atlassian organization, with at least one service project and one request type.

  • You know which page of your help center should hold the support widget.

Install Scroll Support Hub

  1. In Jira, go to Settings > Apps > Explore more apps.

  2. Search for Scroll Support Hub and open its listing.

  3. Click Get it now and follow the prompts. Jira asks you to accept the permissions the app needs, including permission to act on behalf of your customers so it can show each person their own requests.

For what each permission is used for, see App Permissions and Data Handling.

Connect Your Scroll Site in Jira

Jira needs to know which website is allowed to show the widget, and which service desk its requests go to.

  1. Go to Settings > Marketplace apps > Scroll Support Hub. The Connected sites table is empty the first time, and reads No sites connected yet.

  2. Click Connect site.

  3. In the site URL field, enter the address of your Scroll Site, for example https://help.example.com. Enter the domain only, without a path.

  4. Under Select a service desk, choose the service project that should receive the requests.

  5. Click Save. The site appears in the table with its own Connection ID.

The rules the site address has to follow are listed on Connect a Scroll Site.

Copy the Connection URL and Connection ID

  1. In the Connected sites table, find your site and click View code snippet.

  2. Stay on the Scroll Sites tab.

  3. Copy the Connection URL and the Connection ID. You need both in the next step, so keep the dialog open or paste them somewhere temporarily.

Add the Widget to Your Help Center

  1. In Confluence, open Apps > Scroll Sites and select your site.

  2. Go to Site settings > Customize theme > Integrations > Scroll Support Hub.

  3. Paste the Connection URL and the Connection ID into the matching fields.

  4. Save your theme settings and publish the site. The widget only appears on the published site.

Check That It Works

  1. Open your live site and go to the support page. The widget loads and shows How can we help?.

  2. Click Create support request, describe a test problem, and click Continue.

  3. The next screen suggests help center articles that match your problem. Click Continue to go on to the request.

  4. Pick a request type, fill the form, enter an email address in Email confirmation to, and click Submit request. A confirmation shows the new request key.

  5. In Jira, open the service project queue and confirm the test request arrived.
