The answer to this question depends on the type of migration you are performing.
Confluence Server/Data Center to Cloud
If you are migrating from a Confluence Server or Data Center instance to Confluence Cloud, you must use the Atlassian Migration Assistant. The process is described in detail in this article:
Confluence Cloud to Cloud
For Cloud-to-Cloud migrations, you must use XML exports of your spaces:
-
Create XML exports of your spaces
-
Follow Atlassian's documentation to do this: Export a space
-
-
Ensure Scroll Documents is installed (and its extension apps, if you are also using them) on your new instance.
-
Import the spaces.
-
For steps on how to import a space, see Atlassianβs documentation: Import a Confluence Cloud space
-
We recommend starting with a few test spaces to ensure the export and import works as expected.
