Scroll Support Hub

Manage Connected Sites

Change where a connected site sends its requests, connect more help centers, or remove a site that should stop showing the widget.

Apart from pasting values into the theme of a new site, everything on this page happens in Jira, in the Connected sites table on the Scroll Support Hub screen. Editing a site keeps its Connection ID, even when you change its address, so your Scroll site theme needs no change.

Edit a Connected Site

Edit a site to send its requests to a different service project, preselect a different default request type, or change the site address. Editing changes where new requests go from the moment you save. Requests that already exist stay where they were created.

  1. In Jira, go to Settings > Marketplace Apps > Scroll Support Hub.

  2. In the Connected sites table, find the site and click image-20260929-102850.png to edit connection. The Edit connection dialog opens with the current values filled in.

  3. Change the site address, the service project, or the default request type. If you change the service project, pick a new request type as well.

  4. Click Save. A Connection updated message confirms it.

Changing the service project clears the request type, because the old type does not exist in the new project.

What Changes for Your Visitors

You change

What visitors see

The service project

A different set of request types, taken from the new portal. Requests that visitors sent earlier stay in the old project. They disappear from the widget only if the visitor was never the reporter.

The default request type

A different type preselected on the new request form. Every other type the portal offers is still available.

The site address

The widget stops loading on the old address and starts loading on the new one. Update your Scroll site first, so the two match.

Request types and portal settings are cached for up to 15 minutes, so a change you make in Jira can take that long to reach everyone.

Connect More Than One Site

Connect several help centers to one Jira when you want to separate support for different products, brands, or languages. The Connected sites table holds as many websites as you need. Each row has its own address, service project, default request type, and Connection ID. Every site goes through the same setup as the first one, described in Connect a Scroll Site.

  1. In Jira, go to Settings > Marketplace Apps > Scroll Support Hub.

  2. Click Connect site and add the first help center with its service desk.

  3. Click Connect site again for the next help center. Choose a different service desk if its requests belong elsewhere.

  4. For each site in turn, click View code snippet in its row and copy the Connection URL and that site's Connection ID.

  5. Paste both values into that site's theme settings, then publish the site.

Every site uses the same Connection URL, but each site has its own Connection ID. If you paste one site's Connection ID into another site's theme, that site's requests go to the wrong service project.

Telling the Sites Apart Afterward

The widget records the source site on every request it creates. To report on one help center at a time, use JQL with either the site address or the Connection ID. The Connection ID is the safer choice, because it stays the same when the site address changes. See Find Widget Requests in Jira With JQL.

Remove a Connected Site

Editing a site is usually a better choice than removing it. To send requests somewhere else or move the help center to a new address, change the service project or the site URL in the Edit site dialog. Remove a site when the website is going away for good, or when you want the widget gone from it right away.

Removing a site cannot be undone. If you add the same address again, it gets a new Connection ID, so you have to paste the new value into your Scroll site theme and publish the site again.

  1. In Jira, go to Settings > Marketplace Apps > Scroll Support Hub.

  2. In the Connected sites table, find the site and click Delete connection (Unknown Attachment). A confirmation dialog opens. It names the site and warns that the action cannot be undone.

  3. Click Delete. A Connection deleted message confirms it.

What Stops Working

Removing a site takes effect immediately. Within seconds, the widget stops loading on that website, for visitors who are already on the page and for new ones.

  • The support page on that website goes blank. The widget cannot load without a valid Connection ID.

  • Visitors who are signed in cannot see or reply to their requests from that website.

  • A visitor who was partway through signing in is sent back without a session.

What Is Not Affected

  • Requests already in Jira. They stay as they are, with their comments and attachments.

  • Your customers' access to those requests through the Jira Service Management portal.

  • Any other connected site. Each one has its own entry.
