Customize the Look and Feel

Define your site’s look and feel by selecting and customizing a theme.

The theme you select for your site determines the visual appearance of your site.

Scroll Sites offers a series of ready-to-use themes: Bundled with the app, you will find the Help Center theme but you can optionally purchase other themes.

Each of these ready-to-use themes have been built with a specific use case in mind and you can get started publishing content with them right away. At the same time, each of these themes offer a range of customization options that let you personalize your site and make it your own - no coding required.

Users with advanced coding knowledge can additionally opt for developing a custom theme completely from scratch.

Choose From a Collection of Ready-To-Use Themes

With Scroll Sites you don’t have to develop your site from scratch. Instead, Scroll Sites comes with ready-to-use themes that are fit for diverse purpose.

The currently available Scroll Sites themes are:

  • Blog theme - for publishing blog posts.

  • KnowHere theme - for publishing knowledge and instructions that are needed on the go.

You select your theme when you create your site. Each site can have a different theme.

The theme ensures that your site has the structure and features you need to bring your specific publishing use case to life (e.g a help center, blog etc.)

Different themes will include different page types. Typical page types include:

  • a landing page

  • a search page

  • an article page or post

Each theme will also differ in the integrations and the level of support for diverse Confluence or third-party macros they offer.

To change the theme for your site, go to Site Settings > Look and feel > Change theme.

Customize the Theme with the Theme Configurator

Most themes can be customized further using the theme configurator to create a look and feel that is true to your or your customer’s brand.

Your customization options depend on the theme you choose but typically include the option to:

  • add your own logo

  • define the colors of text and background

  • choose between different layout options.

You customize a theme mostly through a visual user interface that requires no coding skills.

To customize the theme for a site, go to Site Settings > Look and feel > Customize theme.

The articles in this section will show you how to configure each theme and customize it further to fit your needs:
