Sign In to the Support Widget

Sign in on the support page to see the requests you have sent, follow their status, and reply to them.

You can send a request without an account. You need one for everything after that: reading a request, replying to it, and attaching files to a reply. After you sign in, the widget also lists the requests you sent without an account under the same email address.

Which Account to Use

Two kinds of account work, and the widget does not ask you to choose between them:

  • An Atlassian account, the same one you use for other Atlassian products.

  • A portal account, created for the Jira Service Management (JSM) portal itself, with no other Atlassian access.

Signing in goes through Atlassian instead of the help center, so the support team never sees your password.

  1. On the support page, click Log in or sign up.

  2. When Atlassian asks, sign in with your email address and password, or create an account if you do not have one.

  3. A Linking your support account message appears while the widget connects your account to the help center. You then land back on the page you started from, with your requests listed.

How Long You Stay Signed In

A session lasts 24 hours. After that, the widget shows Session ended with a short explanation and asks you to sign in again. Nothing is lost, and the request you were reading opens again once you are back.

Sign Out

  1. On the list of requests, click More options, the three dots at the top right.

  2. Click Log out. The widget returns to the welcome screen.

Your requests stay in JSM and are there when you sign in again.
