A New Era for Confluence Publishing

For more than a decade, Scroll Viewport has helped teams share Confluence content with the world – as branded help centers, knowledge bases, and more. But the way teams work is evolving, and we’ve reimagined how publishing from Confluence should work too.

We’re excited to launch Scroll Sites: the next generation of Scroll Viewport.

Scroll Sites brings new themes, live updates, and more flexibility — and it’s available today!

Highlights of This Release

Scroll Sites is the future of publishing from Confluence. It’s included in your current Scroll Viewport license – no separate installation or payment required. Scroll Sites introduces:

  • 🌐 Multiple themes for help centers, blogs, and performance support

  • Live updates mean that changes you make in Confluence are instantly reflected on your site

  • 🧭 Flexible URL Structure

  • 📝 Blog publishing directly from your Confluence spaces

  • 🔗 Broken link detection to help you find and fix issues fast

  • 🛠️ Improved UI for editing and managing sites and detecting issues as they come

  • Quality-of-Life Upgrades include a refreshed UI, better design polish, improved text formatting, unlimited tokens – and so much more!

What Happens to My Scroll Viewport Sites?

💡 Good news: nothing changes for now.

Your existing Viewport sites will continue to work as expected. You can manage them just as you always have.

At the same time, you now have access to Scroll Sites in your Confluence Cloud — so you can explore the new experience at your own pace, without affecting your existing sites.

There’s currently no forced upgrade. But we recommend trying Scroll Sites as soon as possible so you’re ready for what’s ahead.

What’s the Plan Going Forward?

Here’s a quick look at the timeline:

  • Now: Scroll Sites is available to all Scroll Viewport users and you can start moving your sites to the new experience

  • Late 2025: Scroll Sites will offer a fully matured feature set that surpasses Scroll Viewport

  • Early 2026: Scroll Viewport will be phased out and existing sites will be removed

Until then, you can use both apps side by side and create new sites in Scroll Sites while keeping existing ones live in Scroll Viewport.

What Should I Do Next?

Start simple:

  1. Go to Apps > Scroll Sites in Confluence Cloud

  2. Create a new site with one of the available themes

  3. Test with content you’ve published to Viewport

  4. Explore the configurator and publishing options

Ready to Upgrade an Existing Viewport Site?

You can begin recreating your existing Viewport sites in Scroll Sites right away and enjoy all the new features that come with it. Check out the step-by-step guide on how to upgrade.
