Insert Lucidchart Diagrams in your Help Center Articles

Viewports lets you integrate content from a range of flexible third-party tools into your help center, including Lucidchart.

Lucidchart is a collaborative diagramming tool that you can use to create flowcharts, network diagrams, org charts, and more. Diagrams are a great way to create more engaging help content and visualize and illustrate complex information within your documentation.

0. Sign Up for a Lucidchart Team or Enterprise Subscription

In order to use Lucidchart within Confluence, you will need a Lucidchart Team or Enterprise level subscription. If your organization doesn’t have a subscription yet, you cans sign up via https://www.lucidchart.com/.

1. Install Lucidchart Diagrams Connector for Confluence (Free)

This app requires a Team or Enterprise subscription to Lucidchart.

Install Lucidchart Diagrams Connector for Confluence from the Atlassian marketplace. The app is free to use.

After installation, you can use the app as a macro inside of any page in your Confluence.

2. Insert Lucidchart Diagrams Connector for Confluence (Free)

Use the Connector app to insert your diagrams from Lucidchart on your Confluence pages.

  1. Open a page in your Confluence where your diagram should appear.

  2. Click ‘edit’ and placing your mouse anywhere on the page

  3. Use the shortcut /Lucidchart Diagram and select the connector app. The 'Insert a Lucidchart Diagram dialog will appear.

  4. From within the dialog, you might be prompted to log into your account. Click ‘log in’ and wait to be redirected.

  5. After successful login, the dialog within Confluence will show all your existing documents from Lucid. Select a document from the library or click ‘+ Documents’ to create a new document.

  6. From the dialog, click ‘Insert’. The diagram will appear as a macro within your Confluence page.

  7. Click ‘Publish’ to save your changes and close the Confluence editor.

3. Publish to your Help Center

Once inserted on your Confluence page, you can now publish your diagram to your Viewport help center.

Create a new help center site and include the page with your diagram as part of your content source.

Or: Update an existing site to bring your recent changes live.
