Delete Any Unused Scroll Viewport Site

Delete any Scroll Viewport site that you no longer use (e.g it was set up as a testing site or is already upgraded to Scroll Sites).

This page will outline the correct steps to delete the site, depending on whether you have already replicated it in Scroll Sites or whether you choose to not replicate it at all.

Delete a Site That Is Replicated in Scroll Sites

If you have replicated your Viewport site in Scroll Sites, then from the My sites list:

  1. Look for the site you want to delete in the list and click the preview image

  2. Click Site settings

  3. On the very top of the Site settings screen, click Delete old site. A confirmation dialog opens.

  4. In the Type "delete" to confirm field, enter the word delete.

  5. Click Delete.

Delete a Site That Is Not Replicated in Scroll Sites

If you haven’t replicated your Viewport site (because you decided it’s not needed), then from the purple box in the My sites screen:

  1. In the list, look for the site you want to delete and hover over it.

  2. Click Site not needed. A confirmation dialog opens.

  3. In the Type "delete" to confirm field, enter the word delete.

  4. Click Delete.

Deleting a site through these two options is only possible if the site has no custom domain connected to it and is set to offline.

What if my site has a custom domain and/or is set to live but I still want to delete the site?

If your site has a custom domain and is set to live but you still want to delete the site, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the site name in the purple box. You will land in the single site overview screen of your Viewport site.

  2. Click Settings > Remove custom domain. Wait until the screen indicates that the custom domain been completely removed from your site.

  3. Click Close.

  4. Next to the Update site button, click the ••• menu.

  5. From the menu, select Delete site.

  6. In the appearing dialog, click Take offline.

  7. In the Delete your site dialog that appears right after, click Delete.

Your site is now permanently deleted in Viewport and also removed from the purple box in Scroll Sites.

Your site is now permanently deleted in Viewport and is removed from the purple box on top of the Scroll Sites' My sites list. You can now proceed with the list in the purple box and continue to decide whether to delete or upgrade the remaining site(s).
