Add and Remove Content Sources
Define which content from Confluence should be published in your Scroll site.
A Scroll site can consist of many content sources. A content source can be a Confluence space, a Confluence blog or a Scroll Document.
The advantage of adding a Scroll Document as a content source is that it allows you to display versions, translations and variants of your content in your site and make use of advanced content management functionality in Confluence.
To be able to select a Scroll Document, make sure you install the Scroll Documents app and create a document first.

Adding a Content Source (Space, Blog or Scroll Document)
When you create a new site, you are always asked and required to add at least one content source to the site. Later on, you are able to add more content sources to your site.
To add a new content source to an existing site:
From the My Sites screen, click the card that has your site’s name.
From the left sidebar, click Site Settings > Content.
From the Site settings screen, click the button Add content. The Add content dialog will open.
From the Space drop down, select the Confluence space where the content you want to add is located in.
Under Type of content, select one of the following options to decide which content exactly from the space should be added to the site:
Pages: Adds all pages from the selected space (pages do not include blog posts).
Blog: Adds all blog posts from the selected space.
Scroll Document: Adds only the pages of a specific Scroll Document from the selected space.
Only when selecting Scroll Document as Type of content: From the appearing Scroll Document drop down, select the Scroll Document you want to add. Please note, only Scroll Documents located in the selected space will show in the drop down.
Optionally: In the URL path field, specify the URL for this specific content source. By default, Scroll Sites will use the space or Scroll Document name.
Click Add. The Add content dialog will close and your new content source will appear as a card in your Content list in the Site settings screen.
From the Site settings screen, click Publish changes or Save changes in the top right.
Your change will now automatically trigger a new site update (for sites set to live updates) or be applied with your next site update (for sites set to manual updates).
You can always go back to the Add content button and add more content sources to your live site at any time.
Important notes: Adding a Scroll Document as a content source
When you add a Scroll Document as a content source, you can select which versions, translations and variants you want to add to your site.
By default, all your versions except for your working version are selected for the site. If you only have a working version, then this is the version that is selected by default. Learn more on Which Scroll Document Versions Should I Add to My Site?.
If you have activated languages for your document and want to be able to select which languages should be included in your site: Make sure to first set your site’s default language.
If you add variants or languages to your site at a later point (and your site was already live), your URL format will change.
The selected and included versions, languages and variants will be shown to your users in a drop-down picker in your site.
Optionally: When you select a version and variant, you get the option to adjust the URL path of the version/variants and the name that gets displayed in the picker. Editing the fields has no impact on the names that get displayed in your Scroll Documents document details.
Prevent Content From Going Live
If you add a content source, all of its content will be part of the site. For Scroll Documents, this includes only the versions you have selected for your site.
Remember to restrict any content within the space or Scroll Document that you don’t want to be live on your help center.
You will need to restrict this directly in your Confluence space settings or Scroll Document restrictions, not within the Scroll Sites app. Learn more about how you can configure which content Scroll Sites can access and how to Control Publishing of Changes.
Remove Content Sources
You can remove content sources from your live site at any time.
To remove a content source:
From the My Sites screen, click the card that has your site’s name.
From the left sidebar, click Site Settings > Content. In the Site settings screen, you will find a card per content source that is added to your site.
From the card of the content source you want to remove, click the trash icon.
From the Delete content dialog, click Delete. The dialog will close.
From the Site settings screen, click Publish changes or Save changes in the top right.
Your change will now automatically trigger a new site update (for sites set to live updates) or be applied with your next site update (for sites set to manual updates).
Handling multiple content sources
If you add more than one content source, your site might start to look different depending on the theme you chose.
If you chose the help center theme and add more than one content source, your site will obtain a new landing page (the portal page). Customizing the portal page in the theme editor will allow you to optimize the browse experience for your users and help them navigate between your content.
