Why Is My Article Content Not Using The Whole Page Width?
You or your users might find that your help center articles contain a lot of vertical white space between the left sidebar navigation and the table of content (if it’s enabled). This is especially visible when your site is accessed from a very wide screen.
This white space and the limited width that text takes up in your Viewport article are part of an intentional design:
We intentionally limit the content width in article pages to keep characters per line to a maximum, which is a recommended best practice to ensure optimal readability.
This limitation only applies to normal text, as other content types have different width requirements. Thus:
Tables are by default displayed wider than normal text in order to accommodate for many columns.
You can optionally adjust the width of tables, images and ‘page layouts’ further using the Confluence editor’s width adjusting options for those elements. Read more on Resize and Align Images and Resize Tables .
