Include and Exclude Pages from Xliff Exports
There may be situations where you want to exclude certain pages from translation or ensure that only a specific set of pages is translated. This could occur for:
Pages that should not be translated into any language.
Pages that have already been manually adjusted for translation.
Pages that need translation before the rest of the version is ready.
To ensure only the desired pages are included in your XLIFF export—whether you're translating a version for the first time or updating an existing translation—you can use Scroll Documents’ Include/Exclude labels feature. This lets you control which pages are exported, overriding the default behavior of exporting all pages labeled with NEEDS-TRANSLATING
How It Works
You can customize your XLIFF export by applying custom labels to define which pages should be included or excluded.
Custom labels refers to your own labels which you need to apply in the original language. Status labels like NEEDS-TRANSLATING or TRANSLATED are added to pages in the translation. They are taken into account when updating a translation, but don’t need to be specified explicitly.
The table below provides examples of how the labeling feature works for including or excluding pages in your XLIFF export. It also demonstrates the differences between an initial translation and updating an existing translation:
